Proposals and Weddings
A question asked at anchor, or a ceremony on the aft deck with your guests gathered around.
Four settings
Where to do it
Each region has its season and its yachts. Yacht positions follow the fleet calendar on the Our Managed Fleet page.
October to June
Sydney Harbour
A proposal with the Opera House behind you, or a ceremony in a quiet bay towards Pittwater.
Year-round, by yacht
The Whitsundays
White sand at Whitehaven for the photographs, and Hamilton Island for guests flying in.
November to June
Gold Coast
Sunset's home berth: Broadwater sunsets for a proposal, and an easy flight in for wedding guests.
July to September
Fiji
During Impulsive's Fiji season: outer islands, reef anchorages and a ceremony on the sand by tender.
From the water
Why it's best from the water
A yacht gives you the setting, the privacy and the venue in one. No other parties, no fixed timings and a view that changes with the anchorage.
For a proposal, the crew can set the scene on the bow while you are ashore, then bring the yacht round to the spot you have chosen. For a wedding, the aft deck becomes the ceremony space and the main saloon the dinner, with the crew turning one into the other between courses.
On an overnight charter the couple stay aboard, and the next morning starts in a quiet bay rather than a hotel lobby.

Questions
Before you book
How far ahead should we book?
A proposal can often be arranged within a few weeks. A wedding with guests is usually confirmed three to six months ahead, longer in summer.
How many guests can come?
For a ceremony and dinner, Impulsive takes up to 80 guests, Lumir 55, Belle and Sea Raes 36, Sunset 33. Overnight, each yacht sleeps 10 to 12.
Can we marry on board?
Yes. Your celebrant conducts the ceremony on deck or ashore by tender. We can introduce celebrants who work on the water.
Can the crew help with a proposal?
They do it often. Tell us the plan and they will set the bow, time the anchorage and stay out of the photographs.
