Harbour exclusion zones and vessel cut-off times are published by Transport for NSW ahead of the night. We confirm each yacht's position once they are released.

From the water

Why it's best from the water

The foreshore fills by mid afternoon. On the water there are no queues, no crowds at the rail and nothing between your guests and the bridge.

Each yacht takes up a position inside the harbour before the exclusion zones close, then holds there for both displays. The 9pm family fireworks and the midnight show are launched from barges and the bridge itself, so the view from the water is the one the displays are designed around.

Dinner is served on board by the yacht's chef, the crew run the evening, and when the zones lift after midnight you are taken back to a wharf of your choosing.

Questions

Before you book

How far ahead should we book?

New Year's Eve is the most requested night of the year on Sydney Harbour. Most of our yachts are confirmed 9 to 12 months out, and some are held from one year to the next. Ask early and we can tell you which yachts are still open for the night, or register your interest if a hold is released.

How many guests can come?

Lumir takes up to 55 guests for the evening, Belle and Sea Raes up to 36 each. For a larger party we can position two yachts together.

What are the harbour rules on the night?

Transport for NSW closes parts of the harbour to vessel movement from the late afternoon and publishes exclusion zones and cut-off times ahead of the night. Our captains position each yacht before the zones close and hold there until they lift after midnight. We confirm your yacht's viewing position once the zones are released.

Can guests join or leave during the evening?

Not once the yacht is in position. Boarding is at the start of the charter and the return is after the midnight display, once the harbour reopens. Tender transfers are not permitted inside the exclusion zones.
